The “Instituto de Investigaciones de Viandas Tropicales” (INIVIT) from the Agriculture Ministry of the Cuban Republic has the pleasure to communicate that the First International Symposium on roots, rhizomes, tubers, plantains, bananas and papaya will be held from 7-10 November, 2011 at the Bolivar Convention Center, “Maleza” Road Km 1 ½, in Santa Clara city, Villa Clara province.   This would be a great opportunity for academic, scientific and professional exchanges between researchers, growers, specialists and representatives of different institutions and countries as a mean of promoting the development, updating and application of scientific knowledge in agriculture.
